Near Dark Gets the Twilight Treatment with DVD Re-Release

near_dark_dvd-rerelease

Near Dark is one of the coolest Vampire movies ever made.  It was over-shadowed by The Lost Boys back in 1987 but is a vastly superior Vampire story.  Plus it has a handful of the cast from Aliens, including a very entertaining Bill Paxton.  Also, it stars Adrian Pasdar, totally unknown then but known for his role as Nathan Petrelli in Heroes.

With the recent vampire-craze of Twilight and the much more credible True Blood, Lionsgate has re-released Near Dark with artwork eerily similar to Twilight’s DVD box art.

Lame.

Here’s my advice, go to Amazon.com right now and buy the 2 disc Anchor Bay Special Edition.  It’s much more tasty (and only a few $$ more, used it’s even cheaper).
