Confirmed: Machete IS Moving Forward, Robert Rodriguez and Ethan Maniquis to Direct

Category : News

I had given up hope that Robert Rodriguez’s long rumored Grindhouse-Fake-Trailer-Turned-Feature-Film Machete was never going to get made.  This morning those of us who care got some great news, Robert Rodriguez will be co-directing the feature length “Mex-ploitation” flick Machete with his go-to editor Ethan Maniquis.

Rodriguez has so many irons in the fire with his Red Sonja remake, a possible Barbarella remake, a Predator remake (please no), those aweful-yet-profitable kids movies (Shorts), Sin City 2, and his original sci-fi flick Neveracker.  It’s good to see Machete will finally get made.  In fact he already has about 40 minutes of footage shot.  So hopefully, he can whip this out and we can see Danny Trejo starring in a film and kicking B-movie ass!

Production starts this June in Austin.  I mean, just look at the pic above and below.  Who wouldn’t want to see this!!!
