When I heard that Academy Award Winner Jackie Earle Haley (Little Children, Watchmen) was putting on the striped sweater, hat and claws to play the iconic Freddy Krueger, I was pretty excited. I think he’s the only actor that can pull off this role made iconic by Robert Englund.
Anyway, here’s the first glimpse of Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy from the Platinum Dunes remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street. If you were disappointed by the campiness of the Friday the 13th remake (I actually dug it), prepare for a serious, non glossy and scary Nightmare on Elm Street. I’m hearing some great things so far through the rumor-mille. We’ll have to wait and see.
