Unfortunately, The Enterprise is no match for the Death Star. The video is hosted at Current and the description states that The Enterprise had to be stopped because they were whale poaching in the waters surrounding San Francisco.

Made for $3,000 and based on the appendices of J.R.R. Tolkein’s masterpiece The Lord of the Rings, fan Chris Bouchard has created the fanfilm: The Hunt for Gollum. This follows Strider (Aragon) as he sets out to find the creature Gollum and discover the truth about the Ring.
I am impressed by the quality of this short film. Running 38 minutes long, it boasts some pretty impressive visuals. A few scenes, or pieces of scenes look taken from Peter Jackson’s trilogy, but incorporated really well. You can view trailer above and then the entire short film after the jump, or watch it in HD at thehuntforgollum.com.

Above is the short film, Alive in Joburg directed by Neill Blomkamp. This inspired the full length feature District 9. It’s pretty amazing. Check it out.

Just watch. This is awesome.
Sacha Feiner from Belgium made this Gremlins fan film. It’s pretty impressive. Here’s what he writes on the YouTube page regarding this:
This is the alternate fan sequence I made for the DVD version of the Gremlins 2 “film break” scene. I made it alone, in a two months period, with (computer-enhanced) puppets I re-created for this project.
Thanks to Bloody Disgusting for linking to this in their interview with Joe Dante about a possible Gremlins 3 and Gremlins Blu-Ray.

What if Disney’s Mary Poppins was a horror film? The trailer may look like this.
I have two small kids. A 1 1/2 year old and a 3 1/2 year old. They’ve both discovered Mary Poppins, so this struck me as funny.

This is Thomas Edison’s complete 1910 silent Frankenstein film. It’s available at the Internet Archive or you can watch it right here!
It’s cool to take a look at how far the Horror genre has come. This is a little slice of history, made available to everyone via the Internet. Pretty cool.
Thanks to @NeptuneSalad (Ben Rock, director of the totally awesome flick Alien Raiders) for letting me know via Twitter!
