DVD/Blu-ray Releases for 12/15/2009

Buying movies is almost a dangerous obession with me. I love it, and probably have spent more money on movies in my lifetime than any sane person. At least I’m not spending money on heroine.

New Movie Tuesday is my favorite day of the week. Here are this week’s releases as well as my recommendations.

Being the film snob I am, I will recommend the Blu Ray versions of these flicks if available.

MUST BUY

Inglourious Basterds

Inglourious Basterds (2-Disc Special Edition) [Blu-ray]
List Price: $39.98
Amazon Price: $17.99

Average customer review:

Tarantino doesn’t disappoint with his WWII epic. It’s unique and full of great performances. Also at a LOW Blu-ray price, it’s a no brainer.

The Hangover

The Hangover (Unrated Edition) [Blu-ray]
List Price: $35.99
Amazon Price: $15.99

Average customer review:

The best comedy of 2009 finally arrives on Blu-ray for a measely $15! Yes, please…..a-thank you.

RENT IT

G-Force (Three-Disc DVD/Blu-ray Combo +Digital Copy) [Blu-ray] Taking Woodstock [Blu-ray] The Other Man [Blu-ray]
G-Force
$19.99
Kids should eat up talking Covert-Op hamsters. The flick knows what it is, so I give it a pass.
Taking Woodstock [Blu-ray]
$27.99
I’ve heard mixed reviews on this one. But based on some positive reactions of the cast, this is worth renting.
The Other Man [Blu-ray]
$24.99
Haven’t seen it. But it’s Liam Neeson. I’ll check it out.

totally check The Kingdom out. I had avoided it because I read mixed reviews 3 years ago, but it's well worth anyone's time!

My jaw dropped at the car attack scene. Peter Berg doesn't get the credit he deserves either.
