DVD/Blu Ray Releases for 11/03/2009

Buying movies is almost a dangerous obession with me.  I love it, and probably have spent more money on movies in my lifetime than any sane person.  At least I’m not spending money on heroine.

New Movie Tuesday is my favorite day of the week.  Here are this week’s releases as well as my recommendations.

Being the film snob I am, I will recommend the Blu Ray versions of these flicks if available.

Finally! A BADASS G. I. Joe story. This is Warren Ellis’ 60 minute PG-13 animated G. I. Joe that first aired as 7 minute shorts on Cartoon Network. Awesome.

North by Northwest (50th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray Book)

My favorite Alfred Hitchcock film finally comes to Blu Ray. Cary Grant is fun to watch and the story is highly entertaining.

Rent It:

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra $19.99 Big dumb fun. In the theater, I was surprised with how much I enjoyed it. WAY better than the dreck that was Transformers 2.	Food, Inc. [Blu-ray] $20.99 I’ve heard that this is a life changing documentary about the food industry. Looking forward to seeing this.	Star Wars The Clone Wars: The Complete Seas… $34.99 After the crapfest that was the theatrical Clone Wars release, I’m hearing in TV form, this story is enjoyable.

Skip It:

The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 [Blu-ray] $20.99 Don’t waste your time with this remake. Rent the original.	Aliens in the Attic (+ Digital Copy) [Blu-r… $20.99 Just by the title and art you know what you’re getting. Not even your kids will like this.	I Love You, Beth Cooper [Blu-ray] $20.99 Hey! The Cheerleader from Heroes is in a movie! She can’t save this generic unfunny comedy.
