Hulu Brings You Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog

In case you never took the time to see it, here is Joss Whedon‘s musical Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog.

From WikiPedia:

Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog is a 43-minute musical film, initially produced exclusively for Internet distribution. It tells the story of Dr. Horrible, the aspiring supervillain alter ego of Billy; Captain Hammer, his nemesis; and Penny, their mutual love interest.

The movie was written by writer/director Joss Whedon, his brothers Zack Whedon (a television writer) and Jed Whedon (a composer), and Jed’s fiancée, actress Maurissa Tancharoen. The writing team penned the musical during the WGA writers’ strike. The idea was to create something small and inexpensive, yet professionally done, in a way that would circumvent the issues that were being protested during the strike.

Pretty awesome. Some great performances from Neil Patrick Harris as Billy / Dr. Horrible and Nathan Fillion as Captain Hammer.  Why the FUCK isn’t Nathan Fillion in more films?! But, I digress.  View the greatness above.

Thomas Jane Directs a 3D Noir Film

darkcountry2

Thomas Jane (The Mist, Mutant Chronicles) is set to make film history with his directorial debut being the first ever 3-D Film Noir with his yet-to-be-released Dark Country.

From Quiet Earth:

Starring the incomparable Ron Perlman and Lauren German, Tom Jane has promised that Dark Country will “remain true to the stylistic choices of film noir, while delivering an immersive reality and visceral experience that only the next generation of 3D cinematography could provide.”

Plot Synopsis:

A couple en route from Las Vegas are forced to deal with a body out in the desert making their honeymoon one hellish ride.

I love Thomas Jane as an actor and am really looking forward to what he can bring to the table as a director.  Check out the extremely stylish stills after the jump.

Fresh Pizza in 3 Minutes With Pizza Vending Machine

instant-pizza

These are beginning to show up in Italy.  Not sure when we’ll be seeing them here.  It’s a pretty crazy idea and could be pretty cool.  This has pizza chefs in a tizzy, it’s just a matter of time before we’re all replaced by robots.

Gizmodo has the scoop:

Created by Claudio Torghele with some technology developed at the University of Bologna, it does it all. Mixes the flour and water into dough, makes the base, adds the tomato sauce, and finally puts the toppings on top. The whole process takes three minutes, thanks to the use of infrared rays.

Eastern Promises Sequel Confirmed

easternp2

Viggo Mortensen and David Cronenberg are “in talks” about a sequel to the Russian gangster flick, Eastern Promises.  I love this movie and am really interested in following the Viggo Mortenson’s character, Nikolai.  If you haven’t seen Eastern Promises, you need to.

From /Film:

According to MTV, Cronenberg and Viggo Mortensen will reteam with Steven Knight, the screenwriter; Paul Webster, the producer; and Focus Features. The current plan is for them to sit down together and discuss the way forward, though Cronenberg says he has “some very strong ideas” of his own about where the story should go.
