Twilight Should Have Ended Like This

blade-twilight

I wholeheartedly agree on this one.  Coming from TheJohnBlog‘s TwitPic page (@thejohnblog), this picture has made it’s way around the InterWebs.

John Esquivel’s caption is much more witty than mine:

If ‘Twilight’ Ended like this, I would buy the Deluxe Emo box set version of it.

I found it on Slashfilm, it made me laugh, so I’m sharing it with you.

LOL! “Stalk-Her” The New iPhone Commercial

I almost wish this fake iPhone commercial would air once during Prime Time programming. It would be great seeing reaction from people thinking this was actually real. Although, I’m sure Apple would file a major lawsuit or make the filmmaker who created this disappear from existence.

At any rate, this is pretty good for a laugh!

New Favorite Website: People of Walmart

10

Update: Looks like www.peopleofwalmart.com crashed due to high traffic over the weekend.  This makes me sad, hopefully it is back up soon.

Brad Miska from BloodyDisgusting.com (@bradmiska) Tweeted about this website, www.peopleofwalmart.com.  I HAD to check it out for myself.

From the website:

Let’s face it; we all have seen the people who obviously don’t have mirrors and/or family and friends to lock them in a basement, and they all seem to congregate at Walmart. It’s not everywhere that you can shop for milk at 10 a.m. next to a 400lb mother of 6 wearing a pink tube top, leopard tights, and hooker heels. Where else can one go to pick up underwear at 3 O’clock in the afternoon and spot the greatest mullet of all time paired with a mustard stained wife beater (which only accents the extreme amount of body hair) and camo pants that were actually used in Vietnam. And if you haven’t ran into the 6’2” bull-dyke with a shaved head, rockin a wonder bra, flannel cutoff shirt, and jean shorts at 2 a.m. when you’re there to pick up frozen pizza, chips, and cookies, then you can get the fuck out right now.

Here are some of my favorites.  Visit www.peopleofwalmart.com for HOURS of fun!

Hitler Learns James Cameron’s Avatar Trailer is a Disappointment

This is brilliant. Watch now.

Movie Trailer: Assault Girls

cap_assault_girls_tr_03

Ghost in the Shell director Mamoru Oshii’s first full length live action film since Avalon, Assault Girls looks like an awesome flick.  I wish we had a proper HD trailer, but this does enough to wet my appetite.

It will be in limited release in Japan on December 19th, which means we’ll probably have to wait for the Import Blu-Ray release to enjoy it here in the States.  But, I’ll be snatching that up as soon as it’s available for sure.

Check out the trailer and plot synopsis after the jump:

Movie Review: Inglourious Basterds

Inglourious Basterds

Rating: ★★★★★

Directed By: Quentin Tarantino

Starring: Brad Pitt, Diane Kruger, Mélanie Laurent, Christoph Waltz

Plot Synopsis:

Inglourious Basterds begins in German-occupied France, where Shosanna Dreyfus (Mélanie Laurent) witnesses the execution of her family at the hand of Nazi Colonel Hans Landa (Christoph Waltz). Shosanna narrowly escapes and flees to Paris, where she forges a new identity as the owner and operator of a cinema.

Elsewhere in Europe, Lieutenant Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt) organizes a group of Jewish soldiers to engage in targeted acts of retribution. Known to their enemy as “The Basterds,” Raine’s squad joins German actress and undercover agent Bridget Von Hammersmark (Diane Kruger) on a mission to take down the leaders of The Third Reich. Fates converge under a cinema marquee, where Shosanna is poised to carry out a revenge plan of her own… [TrailerAddict]

Review:

Quentin Tarantino‘s films are event films.  Because he isn’t a “hired gun” director, Tarantino gets to take his time and make the movies he’s interested in making.  He’s one of the few directors who works this way, and the only current director with his own style (granted his style is a mish mash of influence) and his own stamp on a film.  You know when you’re watching a Quentin Tarantino movie.  With only 5 previous films under his belt, Inglourious Basterds is Tarantino‘s 6th film (if you count the Kill Bill films as one film), his first period film, his first war film, and his finest film since Pulp Fiction.

The Trailer for James Cameron’s Avatar is here and it’s . . . meh.

[media id=14 width=500 height=230]

Well, here it is. The first trailer for the much-hyped-by-James-Cameron, 10-years-in- the-making sci-fi fantasy film Avatar.

To get the full effect, head over to Apple to see it in HD. However, I must say for all the hype surrounding the film I’m a bit underwhelmed (even in HD). And as far as the “You HAVE to see it in 3D for it to look good!” arguments go, any movie that relies on a gimmick to be good is bullshit.

Movie Review: District 9

district9-1

District 9

Rating: ★★★★★

Directed By: Neill Blomkamp

Starring: Sharlto Copley, Nathalie Boltt, William Allen Young

Plot Synopsis:

N/A.  Go in fresh on this one.

Review:

District 9 is the kick in the pants that this summer needed.  I absolutely loved it.  Finally an event film/special effects extravaganza that is entertaining, stunning to look at, action packed, and thought provoking.  In fact, District 9 makes all the other “Summer Event” movies look like a total joke.
