Young John McClane explored in Die Hard: Year One Comic

BOOM! Studios (the studio behind the Blade Runner Comic) is releasing a prequel to the Die Hard trilogy in comic book form called Die Hard: Year One.

Every great action hero got started somewhere: Batman Began. Bond had his Casino Royale. And for John McClane, more than a decade before the first DIE HARD movie, he’s just another rookie cop, an East Coast guy working on earning his badge in New York City during 1976’s Bicentennial celebration. Too bad for John McClane, nothing’s ever that easy.

I’m not sure what I think about this.  In comic book form, prequels and spinoffs are easier to digest.  Hopefully no movie is put in the works.  The last thing we need is another Die Hard movie.  The originals will do just fine.

The Assassination of a High School President gets dumped to DVD

Category : News

Sometimes a movie will come a long and a movie studio won’t know what the hell to do with it.  Most recently it’s happened with Repo! The Genetic Opera and The Midnight Meat Train.

With the indie noir-tinged high school comedy/thriller The Assassination of a High School President, a movie in the same vein as the memorable Brick, the bankruptcy of Yari Film Group (read the article at Cineblend) can keep us from ever seeing this film in the theater.  It most likely will be picked up on the cheap and thrown straight to video.
