Yesterday the one-sheet for the film Hanna (IMDB) came across my eyes via my Twitter feed. The movie itself sounds awesome. Basically, a young girl is trained by her CIA father, Eric Bana, to be a badass assassin (Kickass meets The Professional with a score by The Chemical Brothers?). So, I’m down for that.

The poster itself IS cool. Just not as original as some might think. Check out my full comparison after the jump. It should be noted that  Tyler Foster (@droidguy1119) helped out with discovering some of the posters.

Will Ferrell makes his film debut as a hard nosed New York cop paired up with Mark Walburg.  Can Will Ferrell pull off a gritty cop drama? Check out the “Motion Poster” and read the official plot synopsis after the jump to find out.

Official Plot Synopsis:

Set in New York City, The Other Guys follows Detective Allen Gamble (Will Ferrell), a forensic accountant who’s more interested in paperwork than hitting the streets, and Detective Terry Hoitz (Mark Wahlberg), a tough guy who has been stuck with Allen as his partner ever since an unfortunate run-in with Derek Jeter. Allen and Terry idolize the city’s top cops, Danson and Highsmith (Dwayne Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson), but when an opportunity arises for the Other Guys to step up, things don’t quite go as planned.

The Other Guys is directed by Adam McKay (Step Brothers, Anchorman, and Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby).  The Other Guys lands in theaters on August 6, 2010.

With the release of the first official picture of Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy Krueger in 2010′s remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street, I’ve been hoping for a full on Freddy pic.

None yet.  But I did find this badass poster.

For a teaser poster, I think this works.  But do we really need another Final Destination movie? I guess we do, Final Destination 2 has it’s moments, and is my favorite of the series.  And, David R. Ellis is back in the director’s chair, which is a plus.  But, like most horror franchises, it’s basically the same movie over and over again.

What’s the catch for The Final Destination (Final Destination 4)? 3D, of course! My Bloody Valentine 3D was a really fun theater experience.  However, 3D is not worth the migraines I get.  So, that’s not really a selling point for me.

On what should have been a fun-filled day at the races, Nick O’Bannon has a horrific premonition in which a bizarre sequence of events causes multiple race cars to crash, sending flaming debris into the stands, brutally killing his friends and causing the upper deck of the stands to collapse on him. When he comes out of this grisly nightmare Nick panics, persuading his girlfriend, Lori, and their friends, Janet and Hunt, to leave… escaping seconds before Nick’s frightening vision becomes a terrible reality.

Thinking they’ve cheated death, the group has a new lease on life, but unfortunately for Nick and Lori, it is only the beginning. As his premonitions continue and the crash survivors begin to die one-by-one–in increasingly gruesome ways–Nick must figure out how to cheat death once and for all before he, too, reaches his final destination. The film marks the latest in the highly popular “Final Destination” series, and its first 3D installment, giving horror fans an especially visceral thrill ride.

Here’s confirmation that Cobra Commander looks like a doofus in Stephen Sommers potential crap-fest G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra.  Really, though, I don’t know why I keep complaining.  Stephen Sommers has directed total crap before.  Have you seen The Jungle Book, Deep Rising, The Mummy, The Mummy Returns, and Van Helsing? ALL CRAP.

The new International Poster for G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra reveals most the main characters, including a look at Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Cobra Commander.  Yikes.

I do notice that the marketing is relying heavily on Sienna Miller‘s breasts (see trailer) and ass (see poster) to get pre-pubescent boys into the theaters.  We’ll see how it all pans out on August 7th.

New artwork for Sylvester Stallone’s The Expendables has emerged.  I like.  Billboard art is seen above.  See the official one-sheet after the jump

Plot Synopsis:

The Expendables tells the story about an “expendable” team, hired to do jobs that no one else can or will. The team is sent to infiltrate a South American country to overthrow the ruthless dictator and liberate the country.

Lionsgate will release the film on April 23rd 2010.

Slashfilm had an exclusive look at a new character in Quentin Tarantion’s WWII film Inglourious Basterds (yes…the words are supposed to be mispelled).

Til Schweiger plays Sergeant Hugo Stiglitz, an ex-Nazi who is recruited into the Basters unit.

Plot Synopsis:

In Nazi-occupied France during World War II, a group of Jewish-American soldiers known as “The Basterds” are chosen specifically to spread fear throughout the Third Reich by scalping and brutally killing Nazis. The Basterds soon cross paths with a French-Jewish teenage girl who runs a movie theater in Paris which is targeted by the soldiers. [IMDB]

The Weinstein Company keeps ‘em coming! Here is the 4th “. . . is a Basterd” poster for Inglourious Basterds featuring French actress Mélanie Laurent, who plays Shosanna Dreyfus.

Shosanna Dreyfus is described as a French-Jewish girl who fled to France under a new identity after witnessing her family’s murder at the hands of Nazis. Now in France running a movie theater, she just may get a chance to exact her revenge when a group of German soldiers decide to stop in for a visit.

Along side Mélanie Laurent is an inspired cast that includes Brad Pitt, Eli Roth, Diane Kruger, B.J. Novak, Mike Myers, Cloris Leachman and Samuel L. Jackson (who narrates). Inglourious Basterds, will premiere later this month at the Cannes Film Festival before arriving in theaters on August 21.

We now have our third “. . . is a Basterd” poster for Inglourious Basterds featuring Diane Kruger.  Kruger plays Bridget von Hammersmark, a popular film star in Nazi Germany and a spy for the allies.

Last week we saw Brad Pitt & Eli Roth’s Basterds posters.  I’m loving every new piece of marketing that comes out! As soon as all the posters are released, I’ll post a gallery.

Looks like we’re getting character posters for Quentin Tarantino’s WWII opus Inglourious Basterds one-by-one.  Last week, Brad Pitt’s emerged.  This week, we get a look at Eli Roth.  I absolutely love how the marketing is being handled for this movie!

Inglourious Basterds is set to debut at the Cannes Film Festival in less than 2 weeks.  The festival runs from May 13th to May 24th.
