I’m not sure what I think about a film version of Min-Woo Hyung‘s awesome Manga (Manwha) Priest which will be directed by Scott Stewart (Legion).  This first promotional image released give me a “meh” feeling, but at least they’re staying in the same color tone as the book covers.

All the info on Priest I have so far is that Paul Bettany (the scary albino monk in The Da Vinci Code, the archangel Michael in Legion) is playing Ivan Isaacs.  A priest who sells his soul to the Devil in order to fight evil.

I’m hoping they don’t drop the ball on this, it could be a really great film if the stick to the source material.  But, I’m hearing they’re straying a bit from the Manga.

Priest Manga Synopsis:

In the frontier of the American west, a veil of evil threatens to engulf humanity. Servants of the fallen archangel Temozarela are paving the way for their dark lord’s resurrection.
