It’s official: X-men Origins: Wolverine is the 2nd best reviewed Blockbuster of the Summer (behind Star Trek, of course).

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is getting a BEATING by almost everyone who’s seen it.  Both critics and fanboys alike would love to crucify Michael Bay.  It is currently resting at 20% on Rottentomatoes.com, as compared to 2007′s Transformers which settled at 57%.

Head over to Rotten Tomatoes to read all the reviews.  I’m actually surprised that it’s being hated on so much.  The effects look amazing, however it looks like Michael Bay’s horrible sense of humor and bloated running time ruin the proceedings.

For Example:

1) 2 hours and 29 minutes.  Is this Lawrence of Arabia?

2) Dogs hump each other, and a robot humps Megan Fox’s leg.

3) A small evil robot has gun for a penis.

4) The huge robot made up of construction vehicles (Devestator) actually is shown with wrecking ball testicles.

5) Tons of sexual innuendo for a movie aimed at selling TOYS.

I’m pretty bummed.  I had high hopes for this brainless action flick.  I enjoy/tolerate the first one (and by all means it has it’s stinker moments) and hoped Michael Bay would listen to some of the criticisms of the first movie.

Looks like he only amped up the criticisms.  Maybe G. I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra will surprise is all and be better? Sheesh.  What a crap-fest of a summer.

Michael Bay‘s Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is being shoved down our collective throats. With tons of pictures, trailers, TV spots and clips it’s getting pretty ridiculous.

But, you got to hand it to Michael Bay. He doesn’t half-ass it and is all about over-indulging. Kind of like Motley Crue back in the day!

MTV debuted a picture The Fallen, the mysterious villan in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.  Here’s what Shia LaBeouf has to say about the character:

Basically, the Fallen is to them what cavemen, Neanderthals were to us… He’s the ancestor, the first version of this exoskeleton. He’s the first version of this sentient being. That’s what he is. He’s the origins of what they came from. [The relationship between him and Megatron is] the Emperor and Darth Vader – it’s that kind of situation… He’s the main villain, so two and two makes four. He’s a badass. He has to be. The Fallen, his transportation method is really unlike any other robot’s transportation method. The way he fights is also very different. It’s spectacular, visually stunning, really incredible.

MTV will be premiering footage from Revenge Of The Fallen during the MTV Movie Awards.  The 2009 MTV Movie Awards are live Sunday, May 31 at 9PM ET.

Michael Bay has posted 2 minutes of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen footage (originally shown at Showest)! The first part is a scene where Sam is breaking the news to Bumblebee that he’s going to college. The second half is some pretty amazing robot kick-assery including some Devastator action! You have to hand it to Michael Bay, he knows how to bring these robots to life, whether or not you agree with his choices (old, cranky Jetfire). Check it out!
