Buying movies is almost a dangerous obession with me.  I love it, and probably have spent more money on movies in my lifetime than any sane person.  At least I’m not spending money on heroine.

New Movie Tuesday is my favorite day of the week.  Here are this week’s releases as well as my recommendations.

Being the film snob I am, I will recommend the Blu Ray versions of these flicks if available.

Fight Club [Blu-ray] $15.99 One of my favorite films of all time, finally on Blu Ray. Double Dip for me.	The Professional [Blu-ray] $15.99 On of the greatest “hitman” flicks of all time.	Gone with the Wind (70th Anniversary Ultima… $45.49 If you’re a film buff, then this release is for you. Gone With the Wind in stunning HD!
Galaxy Quest [Blu-ray] $19.99 The only Tim Allen flick I can enjoy and one of the best Sci-Fi comedies ever gets the HD treatment.	Rome: The Complete Series [Blu-ray] $84.99 Rome ended it’s run on HBO prematurely. It’s a shame, but should be a visual stunner on Blu Ray.	Dane Cook: ISolated INcident $14.99 I am a Dane Cook fan (well, his stand up and not his acting), and love his newest stand up offering on CD. This is the DVD of that performance.
Kevin Smith Box Set (Clerks | Chasing Amy |… $55.49 3 of Kevin Smiths best films available for the first time on Blu Ray. Each available seperately also. (not sure if these warrant an HD release, though.	Sex, Lies, and Videotape [Blu-ray] $17.99 Steven Soderbergh has been creating thought provoking cinema for a long time. It’s great to see one of his best available in HD.

Park Chan-wook‘s Vampire movie Thirst, about a priest who becomes a vampire, is causing controversy in Korea.  Variety broke the news that the one sheet has been banned in Korea. You can read all about it here [Variety] and here [Bloody Disgusting].

“Oldboy” director Park Chan-wook found out the hard way when a teaser poster for his vampire pic “Thirst” was banned because it depicts a priest in a sexual context.

Poster features the figure of a bat, which is the Korean title of the film, using the images of its leading character, a priest-turned-vampire (Song Kang-ho) being strangled by a naked woman (Kim Ok-bin).”
