DVD/Blu Ray Releases for 11/17/2009

Category : DVD/BD Releases

Buying movies is almost a dangerous obession with me.  I love it, and probably have spent more money on movies in my lifetime than any sane person.  At least I’m not spending money on heroine.

New Movie Tuesday is my favorite day of the week.  Here are this week’s releases as well as my recommendations.

Being the film snob I am, I will recommend the Blu Ray versions of these flicks if available.

Must Buy:

Star Trek

Star Trek (Three-Disc +Digital Copy) [Blu-ray]
List Price: $39.99
Amazon Price: $19.99

Average customer review:

Seeing Star Trek in the theater was my favorite summer movie experience of 2009. A Star Trek movie for non-Trekkers and Trekkers alike, although some of the “Super-Trekkers” may have some gripes. Hands down, this is my favorite Star Trek film right behind Wrath of Khan and First Contact.

New Bruno Modeling Pics Will Blow Your Mind

Category : News, Pictures

Universal Pictures have released some new photos from Sacha Baron Cohen’s Bruno. Hilarious stuff.

In other Bruno news, the film did land an R rating (for pervasive strong and crude sexual content, graphic nudity and language.)as opposed to the NC-17 rating originally handed to them by the MPAA.

Red Band Movie Trailer: Bruno

Category : Trailers

Finally, an official trailer for Bruno, Sacha Baron Cohen‘s follow up to Borat, is now available. And it’s a RED BAND (NSFW, people). This looks absolutely insane, I really don’t have words right now.

I loved the character of Borat, that’s what made me like that movie so much.  Here, Bruno doesn’t seem as funny character-wise.  However, the situations look like they could be hilarious.

Bruno Promises to be More Controversial, More Offensive, and Funnier Than Borat

Category : News

Attendees to SXSW were treated with about 20 minutes of Sacha Baron Cohen’s Borat follow-up Brüno.  Response was apparently amazing.  I’ve heard reports of riotous laughter for the full 20 minutes and people saying it is even funnier than Borat.  The buzz is that it’s even more hilarious, offensive and controversial, which has me curious.

I’ll see about getting a movie trailer posted soon.
