★★★★★

Halloween tradition.

The Creature From The Black Lagoon (1954)

★★★½

I finally crossed this off my "list of shame" and it did not disappoint. My 4 yr old son loved it also.

Great creature design can go a long way.

The Incredible Hulk (2008)

★★★★

Watched this with the kids. I was surprised that they liked it as much as they did.

I really like this flick. It's way better than Ang Lee's horrible attempt and Norton is great.

13 Ghosts (1960)

★★½

Well, now I can cross this one off my list. I'm sure this scared people in the 60s, but it's just silly now.

Puss In Boots (2011)

★★★★

Solid family entertainment. After the SHREK movies ran themselves into the ground, I was wary of this spin-off. However, they pulled it off. Had a great time with my kids.

Attack The Block (2011)

★★★★★

Believe, bruv!

ATTACK THE BLOCK is awesome. Makes SUPER 8 look like an amateur film.

Jurassic Park (1993)

20111028-231327.jpg

★★★★½

It's amazing that this was made back in 1993. The CGI effects hold up beautifully and are better than most CGI seen in today's rushed productions.

Great film & it is simply stunning on Blu Ray!

Nightmare City (1980)

20111027-232016.jpg

★★★½

Running zombies! Zombies that use weapons! Badly lip synced mayhem!

Red State (2011)

20111026-232211.jpg

★★★★

Wow. Michael Parks.

If anything, RED STATE puts Parks on the map and we see him in a lot more films to come (his resume is already off the charts). I was blown away at his portrayal of Abin Cooper.

RED STATE also surprised me in many ways. I had no idea where the film was headed and I was genuinely shocked during many moments of the film. A brave solid film with a few flaws, RED STATE should be applauded just because it exists.

The Beyond (1981)

20111025-212221.jpg

★★★½

More atmosphere and gore than plot, Lucio Fulci's THE BEYOND is a lot of fun. Great effects, light on scares, and boasting an amazingly cheesy score, I'm so glad this film exists!
