Kevin Smith Talks about A Couple of Dicks

Category : News

I love Kevin Smith.  His movies are a guilty of pleasure of mine.  A couple of weeks ago, news broke that he was directing his first movie with Warner Brothers and it’s also the first movie he hasn’t written.  The movie is called A Couple of Dicks and this is a big step for him.  Seeing Kevin Smith want to stretch himself as an artist is inspiring.

Above is an exclusive interview he gave to Lee Stranahan, a writer, photographer and independent filmmaker. He writes for The Huffington Post and blogs at BobCesca.com.

Written by Robb and Marc Cullen, and featured on the 2008 Black List (a Hollywood insider list of the best unproduced screenplays of the year), A Couple of Dicks tells the story of “two veteran LAPD detectives attempt to track down a stolen, mint-condition, 1952 baseball card.” The film is tentatively scheduled January 29th 2010 release date.

Kevin Smith was also on the most recent /Filmcast reviewing Watchmen.  Also, you can hear him on his weekly podcast, Smodcast.
