According to an interview with Moviefone, Keira Knightley has turned down the offer to appear in the next over-blown and over plotted chapter in the Pirates of the Carribbean saga.

“It was a completely fantastic experience, and it was an amazingly large portion of my life, but I don’t think I need to go there again. I think that it’s done. But I’m very excited to see the next one.”

Let’s face it, Keira Knightley isn’t the greatest actress.  I’m never running out to see the next Keira Knightley flick.  However, my respect level for her just jumped up a few notches.

While I loved the first Pirates of the Carribbean, the last two were so overly plotted and bloated that I lost interest.  File them in the great effects but  lousy story catagory along with the Matrix sequels.  So, it’s good to see that Keira is on to other things.  I think that’s a smart career choice.
